Silver Peony

Hi everybody! ♡♡♡

I have not been up to much over this past week, apart from reading about moon lore and designing wherever I can. I went for a drive yesterday after not driving in 2 years (I know it's bad, but I down own a car in the city and I particularly hate driving!). It was not so bad, seeing as driving is one of my least favourite activities to do, but I didn't stall and still knew how to drive easily; I really don't think I can ever forget such as harrowing experience as learning to drive! But at least I am on my P2's and on my way to getting my full license.

I finished the illustration I had been meaning to complete weeks ago, but due to laziness, it was only finished recently! But it is done now and I feel a lot more happy for it, crossing items off lists is always a good feeling!

This is the original illustration that I created. I decided to title it "Foxy Lady", harking back to the Jimi Hendrix song and I subtitled it "Mountaineer" - relating it to themes of adventure and exploration.

I wanted to edit the image and try to explore different techniques in Photoshop to make the drawing more lively, so I added a scene of forests and snow-covered mountains as well as a moon and some stars. The whole theme and feel of the illustration was relating to winter and alpine imagery, and the fox makes me think of The Animals of Farthing Wood. which was something I used to watch as a child.

Well, I have had one last online shopping spree and purchased these items, once again from Freez:

I really loved the floral print on the shirt, it reminded me of a tropical island getaway. The necklace has the cutest image of a peace symbol created out of daisies printed on it. The kaftan style top looks really great for the rest of the summer month - I already own the same style of this with a different print and I love it, so carefree and I can be teamed with fitted pants, shorts or skirts.

Uni goes back in a few weeks time, so I will try to keep regular updates on this blog, but I'm not sure that I can promise it as I am in the final year of my degree and I really need to be focussed entirely upon my work! But if I can at least update once a week, I will feel less guilty about neglecting my blog.

That's it for now, until next time. ♥

Moon Shadow

Some recent purchases I have made:

Two chiffon shirts which are really great to wear with pretty much everything in my wardrobe!

An amazing peach silk shirt from Bardot that was on sale for $20 from $50, so a good saving!

I have wanted a leather skirt forever and finally I have obtained one whilst vintage shopping that is in my size AND the right length.

Some cute high waisted dark denim shorts for summer, which will also look nice with tights in winter.

I have waited for so long for this Sportsgirl eye shadow palette to go on sale, and just last week it finally did, so I snatched it up right away! The colours are amazing, there is a really nice sky blue I love, as well as a lovely purple.

I decided to buy the entire lipstick range from Sportsgirl after buying one to try - they are seriously amazing and so opaque and long-wearing for their price. I actually prefer lipstick to lipgloss, because I don't much fancy the sticky wet feeling lipgloss gives me. A nice matte lipstick for me anyday!

I have nothing orange in my closet, but I decided to purchase this Dotti tee on sale, and it actually looks pretty good with my colouring, which is surprising because extreme bright colours sometimes make me look bad. But I do like this colour blocking trend going around, although I don't know if I could pull it off, too many brights are overwhelming to me.

I found this little number in a $1 pile at a sunday market stall in the city, it's really cute and the most loveliest shade of cupcake pink. the embroidery and pearl buttons are a really nice touch. :)

Wanderlust.

Yesterday it started to rain out of the blue and the sky turned orange! I peered timidly out of my window and saw a lovely rainbow up in the clouds.

I found this cropped shirt whilst thrifting at my favourite new and vintage shop, it's lovely for summer and I will definitely be packing it with me for my summer holidays.

I just love this dress I found vintage shopping. It is truly amazing, with a high neck, bodycon style and super cute print, its going to be perfect for the summer months ahead.

I wanted a nice sling bag that wasn't too small, and this one from sportsgirl was perfect. It has a cute 70's vibe with the patchwork going on.

I absolutely adore these clip on 80's earrings I found at a vintage stall about a month ago. They are amazing!

I also bought these three flower wreaths from sportsgirl, as I love whimsical things like this. They're great for spring, walking amongst the gardens in the city.

Painted my nails a rather winter colour this week, I didn't feel like using a bright colour, but I think I will change it soon, as my mood improves if I'm wearing a nice happy shade. :)

Thrifting Finds.

I love finding interesting an off-beat one of a kind pieces while thrifting. There's always so many interesting to discover. I particularly love pieces from the 80's, where colour and shoulder pads reigned supreme.
